In response to the growing number of people and families short of food in San Francisco, the SF food bank launched a new campaign to help those who are in need for the first time to find information about where and how to get help. With an emphasis on fresh produce, the hope was to create awareness of new farmers market style distribution centers. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to lend a hand in this project by shooting the still frames that went into creating this really cool motion graphic sequence conceived and produced by Engine Company 1. Working directly with Joel Bowers (Ad and Motion Designer for the piece) was a blast as always, and we are now currently talking about more fun motion projects we can collaborate on in the future! More to come soon I hope!

The Beginning of an Eventful 27th Year
Leading up to turning 27 I was all of a sudden inundated with a desire for more adventure and variety to mix up my everyday routine. So far... oh, so far it is going well. Really fucking well. Lets see, besides learning to surf and ride motorcycles, wake surfing can now be added to the list as well as an upcoming backpacking trip, followed by mexico which will hopefully include lots of scuba, then more backpacking, and somewhere in between all that I want to re-learn how to shoot guns. Particularly big shots guns. See, I read "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy, and really, have not recovered since.. and there are a particular set of skills I'd like to acquire before the end of the world. Especially if that shit goes down in my hood. Haha! Good book though. Really really recommend it. Where is that movie god damn it!! Anyhow, for my 27th year on the planet, I'd really like to travel more, and shoot some killer pics along with way.. here are some random snap shots of my recent escapades.. just to prove.. it is true... I AM EVA. I TAKE PICTURES BUT I LIKE TO DO OTHER STUFF TOO.

Yea.. that blurry pic on the right.. that's me photographed by my very good but legally blind friend. Nice try Kate ; )
A Decadent Birthday
at the end of almost a decade of Vegetarianism. I thought it was a big enough and controversial moment in my life worth blogging about. (Hopefully no family members are offended.. of which half are omnivores) The cravings had lasted long enough and frankly my friends where really sick of hearing about it. HA! So, How did I go out? Endless champagne, oysters, fine cheeses, and an assortment of 4 types of handcrafted salami made from happy organic vegetarian fed piggies. Oh, and how could I forget.. a delicious sister made angle food cake. My fav!

Ghosts & Dynamite

I did this really fun shoot for an awesome San Francisco agency called Engine Company 1 a little while back, and what better time to share then when then when the project goes from note worthy, to award winning! It was a four day shoot for Engine Company 1's new agency promotional book and I just got word that the book won a Merit Award from The One Show! I worked closely with Joel Bowers, the Ad on the project, and with help and guidance from CD's Grant Richards and Scott Aal, and many more, all that hard work really paid off!! Congrats to all! Check it out.

KNOCK OUT!!!
This is a little collaboration video I edited together. It's a glance behind the scenes at one of my most recent fashion shoots with model Raquel Nave, and stylist Jasmine Hamed. Jasmine shot most of the footage, I shot the boxing footage.. Raquel rocked the vibe, sultry, sexy, anxious.. bad ass chica. You can maybe tell.. we like to have fun. Check out the video on youtube..

So, I am all of a suddenly surprisingly irresistibly love with film editing. I had no idea I has any interest until I did it.. and I am planning on making it my second career. So all of you.. are witness to the beginning. If you care to follow, subscribe to my youtube channel and stay tuned..

Campaign For Novartis
A couple months ago, I hoped on a plane and headed to LA for a 2 day shoot for Novartis. Yay dogie pharmaceuticals! Well, the first couple ads just came out so now I can share. I worked with Lynn Campbell, a bomb ass chick producer, whom totaly rocked my shoot, and the lovely Nina Orezzoli Art Director from Colle + McVoy. Nina was really fantastic to work with, knowing exactly what she was looking for from the shoot and super collaberative as well, not to mention fun to hang with! Woo HOO! We had a good wrap night! Thanks for the good times : ) Had really, the most amazing crew, so it was all fun and games.. we just happen to get a lot of work done! You can see some behind the scenes shots and my amazing crew HERE in a previous post. Most images from the shoot will be reviled as the are released, so check back!

My dear dear model friend Raquel was in town the other week, to watch her dad's come back boxing match.. and seeing as though it was an opportunity to take some awesomely kickin' shots we rented and hotel room and got to work, well.. not really. Unless you consider drinking and stimulating conversation work. Ha Ha! Jasmine came a long for some wardrobe styling and shot some great video clips which i then turned into a fun little video. You can see the full portfolio on my new fashion website site called my b sides. See portfolio "Raquel" under photography. It's a little slow to load, SORRY..

Raquel Nave
In town from Paris to watch her daddy fight.. we had a chance to hang out. YAY! It had been too long.. I miss that girl! Jasmine, Raquel and I got a room and some budwiser and hung out. Of course for us that means we took some bad ass pictures. This is just a sneak peak form the shoot. I have a lot more work to do and will share once the story is complete. There will also be a little sexy video to go along with.

Paul Nave's Return to Battle

After a ten year break, Paul Nave returned to the ring to beat down younger leaner opponent Mikhail Lyubarsky... and I got free rain to photograph it all! I am actually a BIG fight fan. I am way into MMA, and watch as many UFC title fights as I can, especially when it's GSP in the octagon.. oooh his muscles : ) ANYWAYS.. this was the first live fight I have ever been to, and I loved it.

I have a ton more pics, and larger versions of them in my FB album. I also shot lots of video footage and am currently working on making a cute little boxing vid for you tube. I'm trying to decide on the music right now.. so check back to see that!

Thanks again to Jasmine and Ineke! Great job styling!
